In the vicinity of Veszprém, with the cooperation of the Telekom Veszprém Handball Team, Climate Action LTD and Bakonyerdő Zrt., we started an afforestation project in an area the size of nine handball courts (0.81 ha). In addition to the fact that the area of Veszprém County's forests continues to grow, the new forest will also provide experimental and research opportunities for studies related to climate change.
The creation of an experimental forest with the support of the Telekom Veszprém Handball Team began with soil and climate analysis. After landscaping, we will plant 9,000 one- and two-years-old oak seedlings. The area designated by Bakonyerdő Zrt. will be named "TELEKOM VESZPRÉM FOREST", which can be visited freely along the Central Transdanubian red hiking route. The interventions can be monitored and supported. The initiative of one of the world's best and Hungary's most successful handball team is exemplary. Every single tree planted, every new hectare of forest created is important in raising awareness and in mitigating climate change.
Sustainability and environmental awareness are important in sport. Climate Action LTD wants to draw the attention to this through the present project.
