Sport and sustainability can go hand in hand — and for the first time in Hungary, we proved it together. The Climate Action team successfully organized the country’s first Zero Waste Game Day, setting a new direction for sustainable sports events.
We are proud to share that together with the Climate Action team, we successfully organized Hungary’s first Zero Waste Game Day.
This event was far more than a basketball game. It was a clear statement that sport and sustainability can truly work together through experience, education, and community engagement.
Our main goals were clear: to ensure responsible waste management and recycling throughout the game, and to actively engage fans and young people in sustainability through interactive learning opportunities.
One of the highlights of the day was the Green Shot Challenge, where nearly one hundred participants combined basketball skills with environmental awareness. The challenge demonstrated that sustainability can be both inspiring and fun.
We strongly believe that when education is paired with experience, the message resonates longer and creates lasting impact. This day marked only the first step on a longer journey toward making sport an active driver of a more sustainable future.
