Sport x Sustainability — Education and Planning with Falco KC

Sport is not only about exciting competitions—it can also be an authentic messenger of sustainability. This was the message we conveyed on September 11, 2025, at the Falco Savaria Arena, when Climate Action supported student sports organizers as a professional partner in preparing for sustainable sports event management. Our goal is for sporting events to offer not only memorable experiences, but also to inspire responsible, environmentally conscious actions.

We held two lectures on sports management and waste management at the ELTE building; the waste management expert, Tibor Nemcsek, delivered a presentation.

Three members of the Climate Action team personally visited the Falco Savaria Arena to assess the current conditions and infrastructure. We examined which areas could be transformed and how we could prepare for organizing zero-waste matches.

During the site visit, we collected ideas for waste reduction, integrating sustainability programs, and organizing matches efficiently and in an environmentally conscious way.

Why is this important?
Because sport is a platform where the message of sustainability can have a real social impact. The professional lectures and the comprehensive site visit help ensure that Falco’s matches become a model for environmentally conscious event organization.

Climate Action’s goal is to support sustainable event management as a professional partner in the world of sports and to actively shape an environmentally conscious mindset. The visit to Falco Savaria Arena and the professional lectures are great examples of how connecting sport and sustainability can create real impact.
