Joint Tree-Planting with the Hungarian Canoe-Kayak Federation in Csepel

For us, community experiences and sustainable action go hand in hand. With the support of the Hungarian Canoe-Kayak Federation, Climate Action planted three sweet chestnut trees at the Kolonics György Water Sports Centre in Csepel — a small but lasting step towards a greener environment.

We opened the event with a short conversation: Dr Gábor Gremsperger outlined how sport can become a fast lane for sustainability, Gergely Vida (HCKF) looked back on our joint initiatives, and Gergő Havasi, active kayaker, shared how sport helps bring the message of sustainability closer to children.

We then planted three sweet chestnut trees together — a long-lived species widely used in Hungary that provides shade and adds ecological value to the site. For us, these trees symbolise partnership, continuity and commitment: we don’t only talk about connecting sport and sustainability — we act on it.

What we take forward

Climate Action’s aim remains the same: to create community experiences where sport and sustainability naturally meet — and leave measurable, visible impact.
