The collaboration between Climate Action and Telekom Veszprém

The world's best handball players supporting sustainability

Climate Action Ltd. and Telekom Veszprém Join Forces for Sustainability

The renowned handball team Telekom Veszprém has joined the sustainability program of Climate Action Ltd! We are proud that Climate Action Ltd's successful operation made us an official partner of the 2023 Budapest World Athletics Championships, and currently, one of the world's best men's handball teams has honored our company by expressing their intention to join our sustainability program. This is an excellent validation and affirmation of the quality of our work, and it brings us joy that elite sports events and sports organizations from around the world want to collaborate with us.

Through a joint effort between Climate Action Ltd., Telekom Veszprém, and Bakonyerdő Zrt., a reforestation project covering nine handball courts (0.8 hectares) will commence. The connection between sports and sustainability presents a significant opportunity for present and future environmentally conscious existence, and Climate Action continually emphasizes this point. "It is of utmost importance for us to draw attention to sustainability and environmental consciousness through sports. That's why we consider it an honor to have signed a contract with one of the world's best handball teams, initiating our 'triple' collaboration," said Ifj. Dr. Gábor Gremsperger, CEO of Climate Action Ltd., following the official program.

Together, we have devised an environmental project that athletes, local communities, fans, and the club itself can join. Through these communities, we can reach out to segments of society that we can engage through their love for sports.

The joint project began on September 12, 2023, when Ifj. Dr. Gábor Gremsperger, CEO of Climate Action Ltd., and Ákos Turai, Sales Manager, along with experts from Bakonyerdő Zrt. (József Váradi, Head of Forestry and Nature Conservation, Kálmán Némethi, Director of Balatonfüred Forestry, and Balázs Túróczi, Forest Manager), visited the area where, after landscaping, 7,000 one- and two-year-old oak saplings will be planted. Representing Telekom Veszprém were Zsolt Sevinger, CEO, László Nagy, Sports Director, and players Andreas Nilson, Patrik Ligetvári, and Yahia Omar.

The area designated by Bakonyerdő Zrt. will be named "TELEKOM VESZPRÉM FOREST" and can be visited and tracked by nature enthusiasts following the Central Transdanubian Red Trail.

Collaboration within the realm of sports can have incredible dimensions: every tree planted, every new hectare of forest is crucial in our collective societal fight against climate change!

For Climate Action Ltd., an official partner of the 2023 Budapest World Athletics Championships, the clear goal is to bring sports and sustainability together in as many instances as possible, initiating sustainable, forward-looking initiatives like "TELEKOM VESZPRÉM FOREST." It's heartening to see that Telekom Veszprém also prioritizes environmental sustainability and efforts to reduce carbon footprints, setting an example not only in sports but also in our entire society.

We will continue our ongoing work, hoping that more businesses and sports clubs and teams with an interest in sustainability will join our projects!
